I’m really hoping that she was just nervous. There are plenty of pageant queens that are intelligent and well-spoken. Like this one.

yes, my co-workers and i have had a good laugh all day about this, saying “U.S. Americans” every chance we get. on one hand i’m glad to say i didn’t graduate from school in this state, on the other hand, georgia really isn’t the best counterpoint, either…
oh, and my co-workers (recent transplants from pennsylvania) want to know if she’s related to bush in any way.
I don’t know, AM. Like I said, Monica seems like a smart cookie. And she lived both here and Georgia. So it can be done. It can!

Honestly though, the first time I watched that clip, all I could think was, “OMG! It’s A.C. Slater!”
My Italian professor put herself through college with pageant winnings.
I feel like pageants and proms might be where all ugly dresses go to die.

Oh wow… after the initial tears from laughing, I’m almost feeling bad for her. Can you imagine what the rest of her life will be like, being the U.S. Americans-such-as-like-South-Africa-girl?
A friend I were just talking about how she will be representative of so many groups….
She said something stupid because…
She’s in a pageant
She’s female
She’s blond
She’s pretty
She’s from South Carolina
She’s American
She’s human…..
So, she represents us all. Someone, please take this girl aside and explain to her why her response was incorrect.
OMG I can’t believe you’re all so mean to this poor kid…everybody makes mistakes…so what if she can’t locate North American on the map…I mean…like it’s not THAT bad, I mean…who the hiel knows anything South Africa or the Asian countries. I mean, it’s not like people know where Siberia is…there are like all these polar bears wandering around, right?
