Yeah. Pretty awesome. Creepy psycho killer flick. It’s amazing the things that you can find when you’re rooting through old boxes. And amazing how distracting those things can be when you’re trying to pack up said boxes. OK. Right.

are you serious? that’s hysterical! that cover… and your face… i’m still laughing! what an odd thing to find. how great!
now get back to work!
Heh - look on the back of the box! I wrote the score for this film!!! Sheesh, talk about a blast from the past. Gawd, how old is this thing now?
Anyway, “Killer” was shot on Super 8 (!!) and transferred to video for editing. I believe the total budget for the film was around $7,500! But, Joe Bob Briggs liked it, so ….
Here’s the weird part - the director/producer (same guy) got a really bad distribution deal on this and has never made any money from it at all. I promptly registered my score with ASCAP and over the years, have made more than the original budget. Christmas money!! Cool!!
There’s a scene at the end where a car blows up. This was Guerrilla film making at its best! The crew stopped at the edge of a random field, hoping to film the scene before anybody saw them there and asked them to move on, since they didn’t have permission to film anywhere. Right before “Action!”, this farmer pulls up and asked them what they were doing. The crew immediately gave him a drink, sat him in a comfy chair and explained how he was about to witness this amazing thing they were filming, and he fell right into the ploy and never once said anything about using the edge of his field!
Thanks for posting this! Fun to remember!
